What is ‘A Stork in Trouble: The Lost Jewel’ about?
Dissatisfied with this decision, Richard decides to embark on an independent journey full of dangers and challenges.
On his journey, he encounters a group of sparrows led by Samia, who are in trouble after being captured by evil birds known as marabus, under the direction of the greedy peacock Zamano.
The sparrows’ freedom depends on forming a united team, showing bravery, ingenuity and intelligence to solve a mystery that leads to a hidden treasure, full of jewels.
The film explores themes of solidarity, bravery and cunning as the characters face obstacles to overcome adversity. Richard, in his quest for freedom, becomes an unexpected leader for the group of sparrows, proving that the strength of teamwork can overcome any challenge.
The story unfolds with exciting and humorous moments that will surely resonate with less demanding children, but its narrative and visual flaws can be easily detected.

Leonardo David Bargas from Argentine Cinema Today
The animation suffers from low standards in the manipulation of textures and colors, as well as errors in the characters’ movements. This results in an uncomfortable and unpleasant viewing experience for the viewer.
The plastic appearance of the animation does not help establish an emotional connection with the story or convey the bravery and failure it is trying to show.
Álvaro Veleiro from La Voz de Galicia
The sequel to the animation ”A Stork in Distress” (2017) is hampered by a certain lack of visual innovation and a very improbable narrative scheme. ”A Stork in Distress: The Lost Jewel”, the sparrow flies low.
Fernando Gil-Delgado from Fila Siete
The characters, who no longer need to be introduced, remain “original”, but they are not a burden like in the first installment, since the main line of the story is more solid.
Overall it is a nice film, suitable for little ones, with its adventure, its touch of humor and its good examples. The animation is correct, but we are far from the great Disney or Dreamworks titles.
Paula Vázquez Prieto from La Nación
The film explores the new friendships and learnings that the little birds experience in that land where not everything is rosy.
The family imprint and the vitality of the animation make it attractive for the little ones and some of the most extravagant characters – the pigeons short-circuited in the cables, or the imaginary double of the owl – offer some wink to adults.
He is very far from Pixar’s ambitions, but with his child’s soul intact.
This co-production between Germany, Belgium and Norway, presents a promising story about bravery with characters that seem to be endearing, but this only ends up being the facade of a very poor execution of part of its script, which feels extremely flat and without any kind of effort to provide a memorable moral to your audience.
