According to a recent article published by Variety, Johnson could be expressing his discontent with his participation in Madame Web.

Additionally, it has been revealed that a controversial line of dialogue that drew ridicule in the film’s trailer is not included in the final cut of Madame Web.

This decision has led to speculation as to whether Johnson was unhappy with the creative direction of the film or whether her relationship with the studio had been affected in some way.

Additionally, it has been theorized that Johnson and her co-star, Sydney Sweeney, could have been set up, as shortly after their participation in Madame Web was confirmed, they tagged Marvel Studios on social media.

This has led to speculation about whether the actresses believed they were joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), rather than Sony’s shared universe.

Although no official reason has been provided for Johnson’s agency change, speculation is growing about his discontent with Madame Web and her relationship with the studio.

So far, critical reception for Madame Web has been very poor. While the film has generated some interest due to its unique focus on the Marvel Comics universe and Dakota Johnson‘s performance in the lead role, it has failed to completely impress critics.

Some praise Johnson’s performance and the plot’s feminist approach, which highlights the empowerment of women and the importance of mutual support.

Additionally, the decision to remove the controversial line of dialogue from the trailer has been highlighted, indicating a receptive response by the studio to public criticism and concerns.

However, most critics have pointed out certain problems in the film’s execution, including uneven pacing, an underdeveloped plot, and underused supporting characters.

Additionally, some have expressed disappointment at the lack of action and spectacle typical of superhero movies, which could alienate certain viewers accustomed to those types of elements in this genre.
