One of the most memorable science fiction and horror franchises in cinema is the one started by Alien – The Eighth Passenger.
In the late 1970s, Ridley Scott ‘s claustrophobic film fascinated audiences with its terrifying creature.
And although not all the sequels had the same impact, few would have imagined at that time that in the future there would be a version for children, but that is how it will be and all thanks to Disney.
What is the Alien children’s book that Disney is preparing about?
According to Entertainment Weekly, Disney will release a children’s book based on the movie Alien.
But it will be a sweetened version, possibly without the acidic blood, since the purpose of this material will be to teach the little ones the alphabet.
That’s right, there will be a generation of childhoods that will have learned about letters thanks to the fearsome xenomorph and Ripley, the memorable character of the great Sigourney Weaver.
The book was designed by the Little Golden Book publishing house and will be titled “A is for Alien: An ABC Book.”
The first look at the artwork and cover was shared online and the latter features Ripley herself holding her cat while a xenomorph stalks her.
Although it is clear that the material will censor, or reimagine, the most explicit details of the film, there is great confusion as to why choose the franchise for this type of playful material.

As you know, Alien – The Eighth Passenger features one of the most memorable body horror scenes in cinema.
Obviously, we are talking about the sequence in which one of the parasites explodes from the chest of one of the members of the Nostromo, the commercial spaceship in which the events of the story take place.
Famously, Scott left the cast out of what was going to happen to get their most natural reaction to seeing the fearsome xenomorph born.
The franchise ended up in the hands of Disney following its acquisition of Fox, now called 20th Century Studios.
Since then, a couple of projects related to these ferocious aliens have been put into development and are, in fact, quite close to being released.
So expect 2024 to bring important news and announcements about the most brutal xenomorphs, plus this one that will teach the alphabet.
More precisely, Alien: Romulus will be the next live-action movie we will see.
The film was directed by Fede Alvarez and Scott himself has spoken highly of the final product, which is scheduled for release in the middle of next year.
In addition to this title, it is known that Noah Hawley is filming a series that will arrive in the United States on Hulu around 2025. There are still not many details about the plots of both projects.
Will deadly aliens be the best way to learn the alphabet? We will have to discover it in the coming months and we can only wait.
For now, the Alien children’s book is available for pre-sale, but it will not be officially released until July 2024.
It is worth reminding you that all the films in the franchise are available on Star Plus.
