The series, part of Phase Five of the MCU, is intended to maintain close connections to previous iterations of Daredevil and Kingpin, played by Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio respectively.

When the rights to The Defenders returned to Marvel Studios, the return of Cox and D’Onofrio was announced, but with some licenses regarding their past in the Marvel Television series.

However, according to a recent statement from D’Onofrio, Daredevil: Born Again has undergone a creative overhaul that has refocused it to be more like its Netflix predecessor.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, D’Onofrio shared details about the changes coming to Daredevil: Born Again and how it will honor the original series.

“It brings a lot of great stories and all the side stories that happened in those original three seasons. So now we can start this Born Again situation with all that behind us and the result of all that story. So we’re all talking about Daredevil: Born Again in those terms,” added the actor.
