Disney Plus could have games in the future

The streaming wars continue. Although one might think that the Hollywood strikes would have put the platforms in check, this is not the case. On the contrary, they have forced them to think about new ways to generate profits beyond the television and film content of their catalogs.
The next frontier will be shopping and video games, in a very similar way to what Netflix has ventured to do.
What plans does Disney Plus have for the future?
According to Variety , Rita Ferro , Disney’s president of advertising sales, announced that there are innovations that will be coming to Disney Plus soon. The medium assures that it is about shopping experiences and video games.
It is not yet clear if there will be a way to place products, let’s say Amazon style, and if mobile games will be developed available on the website itself.
The measure comes a long time since the platform launched, in the United States, a plan with advertising at a lower cost for the public. It is expected that this type of subscription will begin to expand to Europe and eventually to Latin America.
At the moment, the only thing that is known is that there will be a presentation in which these types of announcements will be made on January 10 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Disney’s year, at least at the box office, has been a disastrous one. Absolutely none of their titles has managed to surprise and exceed the expectations that were had for each one.
The highest grosser of all so far has been Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but unlike the years in which they reach billions in sales with a single film, 2023 has given them a significant setback in the year of his centenary.
In terms of television, and the series derived from its most recognized franchises, although Ahsoka with Loki had a good reception from the public, nor did they become the weekly phenomenon that, for example, HBO Max achieved at the beginning of the year with The Last of Us every Sunday.
In any case, as long as people maintain their subscription, and they have more and more users, we will have to see what kind of content they have paying monthly or annually.
Despite all this, it is also interesting to take this in the context that just a few days ago it was confirmed that the studio was going to release Luca, RED – in theaters and Soul, three of the most recent Pixar films that were released directly on Disney Plus due to the pandemic.
Although it’s worth being skeptical about whether that’s the reason people failed to go see Elements, we will have to see if these stories manage to attract people to rooms.
For now, Disney Plus could have a strong end to the year. On the one hand, on December 20, Percy Jackson and the Olympians , the live-action adaptation of the popular literary saga, will debut.
And, on the other hand, two days later he will launch the second season of What If…? Marvel animated titles that in the past were liked by both the public and critics.
