Enrique Cerezo has presented ‘Cerezo: 75 looks and more for 75 years’ , a work that reviews the life of the president of Atlético de Madrid through more than 75 testimonies from different personalities from the sporting, institutional and cultural spheres.
The event, presented by Roberto Gómez and Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, was attended by renowned football personalities, such as Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid , received upon arrival by Cerezo with a heartfelt hug.
Prominent faces of Atlético de Madrid also wanted to accompany the manager during the presentation of the book. The club’s CEO, Miguel Ángel Gil; the coach, Diego Simeone; and the footballers Koke, Llorente, Savic, Giménez and Oblak were some of them.
From cinema, politics, music, business… The long list of personalities who wanted to give their support to the red-and-white president was made up of, among others, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, Ángel Torres, Pérez Reverte, Ana Rosa Quintana, Carmen Posadas, Pajares , Simeone, Vicente del Bosque, Ángel María Villar, Esperanza Aguirre, Raphael, Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, Resines, Santiago Segura, Paz Vega, Theresa Zabell, Carlos Herrera or the businessmen Juan Palacio, Blas Herrero and Antonio Garamendi.
Recovery of audiovisual cultural heritage
In addition to being president of the Madrid club, Enrique Cerezo is the owner of the largest catalog of Spanish cinema, with more than 8,000 titles , and his work is fundamentally dedicated to the recovery of audiovisual cultural heritage.
I have always liked cinema. I started as a cameraman and have even directed. I remember when I showed up for my first film without knowing what a shoot was like, without knowing that that day would mark my life. There was, on Infanta Mercedes Street, José Luis López Vázquez, who had just been given an acting award from the Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos and he welcomed me as one of his own. Nostalgia is one of those things that cannot be avoided. The word retirement is not in my dictionary. “He who retires practically begins to die,” Cerezo explained to Vanitatis before the start of the event.
