More and more revelations occur due to the trial against actor Jonathan Majors for allegedly harassing and beating his ex-partner last March.
Yesterday’s day of deliberations included the two officers who came to the aid of the alleged victim, and who testified that the woman’s injuries were so visible that this was what warranted, in their opinion, making the arrest.
What happened between Jonathan Majors and his ex-girlfriend?
According to Variety , it turns out that it was Jonathan Majors who called the emergency services when he found Grace Jabbari, his ex-girlfriend, unconscious in a closet the morning after an argument over alleged infidelity.
The interpreter, as heard in the recording, believed that she had committed suicide or had suffered an overdose. However, when two police officers arrived at the apartment they failed to find any evidence of those two possibilities.
On the contrary, from that moment on she told them that she had been attacked by him. This is how officer Erik Lucero, who attended the call, explained:
“She was confused about where she was. We had to sit her down and she asked us ‘How did I get here? Is he here?’ Is he out there?’ She told us that she had gotten into a fight with him the night before over a text he received. That he had stopped him from grabbing her phone.”
Jabbari explained that after her fight with Majors she was very sore and took sleeping pills, but they didn’t work for her and she eventually ended up in the bathroom and then passed out in the closet.
This afternoon, the judge in the case released images of her injuries, which show a purple finger, a cut behind her ear and there is also a photo in which marks appear on her neck. The police explained that she was visibly upset when they woke her up. A video was also shared in which it is seen that he tries to put her back in the car after the argument.
Until now, the jury has heard the prosecution’s witnesses, but starting tomorrow the actor’s defense will begin to present its version of the events.
Marjos’ team argues that it was Jabbari who attacked him and that he has done all this just to harm him in revenge for parting with him. Likewise, his injuries, they say, are a consequence of his actions in trying to take the phone from her.
As you know, Majors promised a great career and 2023 was set to be the year of his full deployment.
Not only because he had been signed to be the big villain of the new Marvel saga, in which he debuted with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but because he also surprised at Sundance with the independent film Magazine Dreams, where he plays a bodybuilder with shaky mental health.
The trial is expected to end no later than the second week and, if found guilty of the various charges against him, he could be sentenced to up to a year in prison.
It is unknown what Marvel has in mind regarding such a possibility, if he will completely discard the character in his next stories or if he will go the easy way and simply replace him with another actor.
