Marvel Studios planning Female-Led ‘X-Men’ Franchise Reboot

Marvel Studios planning Female-Led ‘X-Men’ Franchise Reboot – Plans for mutants in the MCU will focus on the women of the team as protagonists.

It’s been four years since we most recently saw the X-Men in the infamous X-Men: Dark Phoenix. But we all know well that it will not be the last.

The plan of Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, is to do a reboot for that franchise that will finally see them join the main continuity and, most likely, cross paths with the rest of the characters in the saga like the Avengers.

And the first rumors about the project are beginning to emerge.

What is the X-Men reboot going to be about for the MCU?

According to insider Daniel Ritchman (via ComicBookMovie ), who in the past has revealed exact details of future Marvel projects, the studio has in mind that its X-Men reboot will be led by the team’s superheroines.

Of course, this is a rumor since, as far as is known, there is not even a complete script for the film and these are simply ideas that the executives supposedly have in mind.

Another interesting detail that was shared was that Feige wants Mr Sinister to be the main villain and that he is deliberately avoiding Magneto because he wants the film to be and feel as different as possible from the two franchises that were previously released to the public.

Of course, this could change as a writer officially joins the development and contributes their own ideas about the story.

What could we expect from a female remake of X-Men ? Right off the bat, the names that come to mind are the telekinetic Jean Grey, Storm and Rogue, who are the characters most frequently associated with the team. Of course, Shadowcat and Jubilee are other members who are part of the group and who have appeared in live-action versions of the superheroines. Likewise, all of them do not exist in the MCU, as far as we know, at least.

But this wouldn’t be the end for the male heroes, obviously. Only in Deadpool 3, which will be part of the MCU, will we see two of them: the titular character and Hugh Jackman ‘as Wolverine.

It is said that other actors from the previous franchise could return and, as you know, the same Patrick Stewart who gave life to Professor X, returned for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So this does not mean that there will only be women in the project and the saga.

But again, to date we have no official details about the plot of either of these two films. It would not be strange, since lately Marvel has also focused with great interest on its female heroines. It remains to be seen if the trend continues into the future.

For now, fans can expect that 2024 will bring with it the revival of the classic animated series titled X-Men 97. Although it still does not have a release date, it is known that the plan is to premiere the show on Disney Plus next year.

And with Deadpool 3 landing in theaters at the end of July, everything indicates that the next twelve months will be very kind for fans of mutants and the MCU. So wait.
