Warner Bros. Discovery has announced the launch of its streaming platform in Mexico under the new name Max, on February 27.
This exciting development will bring with it a wide range of changes, from plans and pricing to changes to the content catalog.
Below, we will detail what subscribers can expect from Max, marking a new era in digital entertainment in Mexico.
What will happen to my HBO Max account?
One of the biggest questions subscribers may have is what will happen to their existing HBO Max accounts.
According to Warner Bros. Discovery’s statement, current HBO Max subscribers, whether they subscribed directly to the platform or through third parties, will have access to Max from the day it launches.
Additionally, they will retain the price and features of their current plan for a limited time after the launch of Max.
Those who have subscribed to HBO Max with the 50% introductory offer, billed through HBO Max, will maintain the discount as long as they comply with the terms and conditions of that promotion.
This approach ensures a smooth transition for existing subscribers, allowing them to explore the new Max experience without interruption.
Additionally, account profiles will remain the same, as will settings and browsing history.

Changes to Max’s catalog
The arrival of Max to Mexico is accompanied by a significant increase in the content catalog, offering more than 37,000 hours of entertainment in its first months after launch.
This growth represents more than double the amount of content currently on HBO Max.
The platform is positioned as a more robust and versatile option, hosting a varied collection of content from iconic brands such as HBO, Warner Bros., DC, Discovery, Cartoon Network, and many more.
In addition, Max will include the first exhibition sales of films from major studios such as Sony Pictures and NBCUniversal.
