The countdown to the Paris Olympics has begun. That is why many of the sports teams from federations around the world have begun to measure the field and get ready for the summer tournament. As happened last week in Athens, Greece, where the Aphrodite Cup was held , a competition in which some of the gymnastics teams from the countries that have qualified for the Olympic Games measured their strength and showed some of the routines that they will present at said appointment.

And as expected, the Mexican artistic gymnastics team managed to raise the name of our country, returning home with three medals – one of them gold – and with its mind set on its goal: conquering the Olympic Games. Paris 2024.

The team led by coach Blajaith Aguilar managed to achieve the highest position on the podium in the All-Around, by adding a total of 64,350 units, thus surpassing the teams from Greece, the host country, and Australia, which took the place. Third place. On the other hand, the Mexicans also managed to stand out in the five-ring event, in which they won the silver medal. Furthermore, in the mixed category, that is, three ribbons and two balls, the national team won bronze.

Without a doubt, this has been a good start for the Mexican artistic gymnastics team, who are in full preparation for the Olympic Games, a participation that will undoubtedly be historic, since this is the first time that the national team has managed to qualify. to the Olympics, this after their outstanding participation in the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023, where they achieved their place in Paris 2024.

The incident they experienced in Israel in 2023

It should be noted that things have not been easy for the team, since last year they experienced a somewhat complicated situation while they were in a training camp in Israel. And in the midst of this preparation, the members of the group lived days of uncertainty after the war in Israeli lands broke out, which caused their training to take a backseat.

On that occasion, coach Blajaith Aguilar sent a message on social networks where she spoke about the situation they were experiencing: “Hello everyone! As many know, we are training in Israel as part of our preparation towards the Pan American Games. We are fine, we are in a safe area, somewhat far from the affected cities and we already know all the necessary measures in case of any situation. We thank you all for staying tuned and for your messages,” she shared.
