The Spider Verse continues to expand beyond the screen. With the success of the films Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, fans want more of the spider superhero and his adventures through the multiverse.
According to a new leak, a video game will be the new platform to unleash your imagination.
According to Coming Soon , a group of hackers released inside information on new video games from Insomniac, the company responsible for successful titles such as Spider-Man (2018), Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020) and Spider-Man 2 (2023).
Later, a since-deleted Reddit thread revealed screenshots showing that a SpiderVerse video game is in development.
A list of Insomniac’s Spider-Man video games featured Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (abbreviated as Miles), Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (abbreviated as SM2), Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 (abbreviated as SM3), and a video game where only Spider could be read.
The latter was confirmed as Spider-Verse in an employee’s job document, which reads “additional work for Spider-Verse.”
What is the Spider-Verse?
The “Spider-Verse” is a concept and plot that appears in Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man comics, as well as other forms of media, such as animated films.
At its core, the Spider-Verse is a story that involves the meeting of multiple versions and characters of Spider-Man from different dimensions and alternate realities.
The Spider-Verse plot became especially known by The Amazing Spider-Man comic series published in 2014, written by Dan Slott and drawn by Olivier Coipel.
