It’s been several years since we last saw Adam Driver as Kylo Ren on the big screen. The character became one of the most important in the most recent Star Wars trilogy, however, he failed to meet all expectations, especially those defended by the most demanding fans.

During a new public appearance, the 40-year-old actor talks about the future of his character and assures that he will no longer have interventions in the adventures of the distant galaxy.

During his participation in the Smartless podcast, when asked about the possibility of more Star Wars movies, Adam Driver confessed: “They are doing things, but not with me. I’m no longer involved.”

When asked if this was because his character’s story had concluded, Driver simply added, “Yes.” The actor also recalled what his entry into the franchise was like at first, admitting that he was more of a Star Trek fan and that he was apprehensive about joining a long-running franchise without having the opportunity to read a script.

And then when they asked me to do it, it was… I thought about it a lot because, again, I didn’t want to look bad in it. I got an offer, but there was no script to read, which I’d never done before, so you had to commit to it. [Star Wars: The Force Awakens director] JJ [Abrams] explained the whole thing to me, but there was no script where you could see how it played out.”
