Why Charlie Hunnam wants to star in Pacific Titans 3 – The actor does not rule out his return to Guillermo del Toro’s ambitious universe, but he has something to say.

Several years have passed since the premiere of Pacific Titans but the world has not forgotten the visual wonder that this work by Guillermo del Toro represents.

Charlie Hunnam shone as the protagonist of that adventure, however, he also stood out for his absence in Pacific Titans: Rise -Four.

Now, in an interview with Inverse, the 43-year-old actor admits that he does not rule out returning as the protagonist in a hypothetical third installment of the franchise, however, he mentions a very specific condition for accepting the role.

Pacific Rim premiered in 2013. The plot takes place in the near future where enormous extraterrestrial creatures called Kaijus emerge from the ocean to attack Earth.

In response, humanity creates gigantic combat robots called Jaegers, controlled by neuronically connected pilots.

The story follows the pilots, who fight bravely to protect humanity and prevent global annihilation.

Del Toro is a passionate lover of the kaiju and mecha genre, as well as Japanese anime.

In this regard, the actor talks about the condition for joining the supposed project: that Guillermo del Toro is the director.

“I would do whatever Guillermo was doing. If Guillermo invites me to do Pacific Rim 3, I’ll be there, or anything else he wants to do.”

A movie stumble
Pacific Titans: Rise, released in 2018, did not reach the same level of success as its predecessor for several reasons.

Although directed by Steven S. DeKnight, Guillermo del Toro was not actively involved in the sequel, leading to a loss of his creative vision and distinctive style.
