Zendaya’s ambition for “Dune 3” clashes with Villeneuve’s vision for Paul Atreides. The director believes that the story of the Atreides heir ends with the sequel to “Dune.”

Dune: Part Two” is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and its premiere is just around the corner. Denis Villeneuve is back with more of the Paul Atreides story, and his actors are already eager to film more adventures in the future.

Although Zendaya wants to return as Chani in a third part, the director believes that Paul’s story has a well-drawn line.

What is “Dune” about?

Dune” is a film adaptation of the iconic science fiction novel written by Frank Herbert. The story is set in the distant future on the desert planet of Arrakis, which is the only source of the spice called “melange” or “the spice,” which grants mental abilities and is essential for interstellar navigation.

Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet, is a young nobleman whose family is assigned to rule Arrakis. Villeneuve manages to capture the complexity of the “Dune” universe, offering an immersive cinematic experience that will appeal to both fans of the novel and new viewers.

Zendaya, who plays Chani in Villeneuve’sDune” films, is ready to continue the story on Arrakis, as she told Total Film: “Denis is an artist, and he doesn’t like to share things until he’s figured it out. When he is ready, we will all be well-prepared to listen to his vision.”

Despite the high prospects for “Dune 3,” Denis Villeneuve remains contemplative on Paul’s story: “All the elements are there. But I think the film adaptation is more tragic than the book.

The way Part Two ends… would create a total balance to ending Paul’s story with what we could say in Part Three.”
