Snyder eyes ‘Dark Knight Returns’ after ‘Rebel Moon’
Snyder eyes ‘Dark Knight Returns’ after ‘Rebel Moon’- After ‘Watchmen’ and ‘Justice League’, Zack Snyder is interested in adapting the best Batman comic, from the creator of ‘300’.

Despite whoever it may be, Zack Snyder has directed several of the best superhero movies in history.
From the underrated ‘Watchmen’, the more than worthy adaptation of a work as unadaptable and complex as Alan Moore’s graphic novel, to his epic ‘Justice League’, an example of how the same film can get worse or better depending on the person behind the cameras.
He is responsible for Henry Cavill becoming, for many, the perfect Superman thanks to ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’. But, with the change of direction at DC, everything seemed to indicate that Snyder had turned the page with superhero movies… Or not?
Chatting with the filmmaker for the premiere of the first part of ‘ Rebel Moon‘, Snyder gave us a piece of cake and a piece of cake.
On the one hand, he completely rules out the possibility of directing a Star Wars film in the near future (“at least, for now”) after Lucasfilm’s rejection of the project that has finally led to his new film on Netflix, a modern version from ‘The Seven Samurai’ by Akira Kurosawa in space opera style.
On the other hand, he would be willing to return to the DC universe to adapt what he considers his favorite comic and what is, for many, the best printed Batman story: ‘Dark Knight Returns’, by Frank Miller , the same author of ‘300’.
“I’m interested, yes… At some point, I wouldn’t mind doing ‘Dark Knight Returns’ by Frank Miller.
I think I’ve already said it a few times, but, for me, it’s my favorite comic, even more than ‘Watchmen.’ ‘And I love ‘Watchmen’. It’s certainly one of the greatest works of literature ever created, but for me, ‘Dark Knight Returns’ is really, in many ways, my favorite. So if that could happen, I’m open. But at the moment I’m quite busy with this ‘Rebel Moon’ universe.”
And with ‘Army of the Dead’, let’s not forget that between sequels and series derived from his zombie universe, Snyder also has a plan ahead with his other active franchise for the Netflix film catalog .
In any case, it seems that his wish does not fit into the plans of the new DC boss, James Gunn , who in his planning for the reboot of his cinematic universe has named the next Batman movie, and it will not be based on Miller’s work.
The new DCU will feature a new Dark Knight in ‘The Brave and the Bold’, which will bring Frank Quitely’s Grant Morrison’s Batman and Robin to the big screen.
At the moment there is no confirmed actor to star in it, although it has been ruled out that Robert Pattinson and his character from Matt Reeves’ films exist in an alternative universe.
