Carolina Yuste’s Short Film Earns Goya Nomination- The documentary short film ‘Herederas’, by director Silvia Venegas, have been Extremaduran nominations for the 38th edition of the Goya Awards for Spanish cinema.
Carolina Yuste from Badajoz, who already won the Goya for best supporting actress in 2018 for ‘Carmen y Lola’, will compete for the award for best leading actress for the fiction feature film ‘Saben Aquell’.
‘Herederas’, for its part, has been nominated for best documentary short film. It is directed by the director of Santa Marta de Barros Silvia Venegas, who already won the Goya with ‘Walls’ in 2014, and is produced by Juan Antonio Moreno, from Talavera la Real.
Moreno also won the award in 2020 for ‘Our Life as Refugee Children in Europe’.
In addition, the Extremaduran production company GLOW, directed by José María Fernández de Vega, has participated in ‘El Sueño de la Sultana’, nominated for best animated film.
GLOW carried out a large part of the artistic section of the film, having hosted the Basque director Isabel Herguera in the studio for two years, where she directed the team of animators and artists who made the feature film, according to what the Extremaduran production company reported at the time.
Extremaduran Pilar Díaz Pardo, who was aspiring to be nominated for the Goya for best production direction, led the production direction of a large team from the GLOW studios, also spread around the world, as it is a Spanish-German co-production. India.
The Extremadura Film Academy had 16 candidates for the Goya Awards among producers, directors, screenwriters, actors, directors of photography and editors, in nine of the 28 categories.
