Zack Snyder ‘s fans will finally be able to see him in shape with a new franchise that will be under his control, while the company has a lot of faith in history to work on the idea in the long term.

The director has the ambition of creating a new saga that can be compared to Star Wars, but for a new generation, and several members of his cast are sure that he will achieve it. Ed Skrein, for example, remembers that the director wanted to make something as epic and exciting as Dunkirk and The Lord of the Rings – The Return of the King.

Although his films have always divided the public and specialized critics, Snyder’s work does not lack ambition and that element is what keeps him one of the most interesting names in Hollywood.

His journey in the world of DC seemed ideal, as it would allow him to play with big budgets within a genre that could make good use of his style. However, things didn’t turn out very well and the director became the target of attacks for “ruining” these characters.

After several years, the position of many fans changed and they took his side, defending his concept and his plan for the DCEU that never came to fruition.

Although many are patiently waiting for him to return to the brand. Snyder has no intention of returning, as he is busy putting together cinematic universes for Netflix, a company that supported him and gave him total creative freedom for his projects. Army of the Dead worked well, but it will be Rebel Moon that will define the future of the creator within this company.

Rebel Moon will present us with a totally new canon

Many years ago, Snyder brought the first Rebel Moon script to the doors of Lucasfilm because the film was inspired by the world of Star Wars and served as a tribute to The Seven Samurai.

Unfortunately, the company left it aside due to the purchase of Disney and the other company’s plans. But the director knew that this story had a lot of potential, and he worked on new versions until he reached the right one.

To encourage the creation of a new cinematic universe, Snyder worked his proposal in two parts that were filmed at the same time.

The one that is about to be released on Netflix is called Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire , while the second, which will arrive in the catalog on April 19, 2024, is called Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver.

In addition to everything, the director also had the freedom to work on two different cuts for different audiences, so it is a great experiment for the company.

The director cannot fail and his cast supports him at every step because he believes that he will genuinely deliver something new and memorable that will forever change the genre.

Ed Skrein , who plays Atticus Noble, right-hand man of the story’s villain, revealed in an interview with GamesRadar Snyder’s inspirations for the Rebel Moon sequel and how they indicate the epic path he wants to follow:

“I remember Zack saying he wanted the second movie to feel like Dunkirk. So it’s like there’s a gap at the beginning and then it detonates.

It is known that the end of the first installment will be explosive and they hope to provoke great emotion among viewers so that they will return in a couple of months to witness the closure of this story.

If everything goes well, Rebel Moon will open the doors to a lot of other projects. At the moment video games are already being prepared to continue exploring this world and comics that will work to reveal the past of several characters.

Although the priority for the production company will be the sequels and, hopefully even a series for the platform that may or may not be a prequel.

Snyder recently revealed that he is already working on a new script for a third installment, and the creative team must pick up speed if they want to get closer to what was done by Star Wars or Marvel.
