Although Hulk is one of the main Avengers and a much-loved character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we will not see him again in a solo film.
According to Mark Ruffalo, Kevin Feige no longer wants Bruce Banner and Hulk to be stars in any Marvel Studios production. Fans will have to settle for seeing superheroes as secondary or accompanying characters.
What did Mark say about Hulk and a solo movie?
Mark Ruffalo‘s work as the Hulk has been widely praised for his ability to capture the complexity and humanity of the character.
Since his first appearance in The Avengers, Ruffalo has managed to infuse the green giant with a unique blend of physical strength and emotional vulnerability, making him one of the highlights of the Marvel films.
Although many fans want to see Hulk star in another movie, Mark talks about his meeting with Feige for SBIFF and the outlook is not encouraging.
“I don’t mean to burst anyone’s bubble… As far as I know, [it’s still true]… I could talk more about it but I’ve been told not to.”
Edward Norton starred in the latest Hulk movie in 2008 and since then we have had no more. On the other hand, Mark‘s performance has been acclaimed by fans and critics for his ability to convey the character’s internal struggle and moral conflict, as well as for his sense of humor and charisma in the action scenes.
Ruffalo has managed to make the role of Hulk his own, bringing new depth to the character and making him an integral and beloved part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel’s failures at the box office
Marvel Studios has faced criticism in recent years due to a perceived repetition in the formula of its films and a certain lack of innovation in terms of narrative and character development.
Some critics and viewers have expressed concern that many Marvel films feel like they follow a predictable structure and feature plots and characters that can feel generic or unmemorable.
Additionally, there have been debates about the market being saturated with an excess of superhero films, leading to questions about the long-term sustainability of the genre and its ability to continue attracting increasingly discerning audiences.
As for box office failures, these can be attributed to a combination of factors, including the perceived quality of the films, the saturation of the superhero film market, and competition with other major productions.
Although Marvel Studios has enjoyed overwhelming success overall, not all of its films have been equally successful in terms of the box office.
Some films may not have resonated as well with audiences due to issues in narrative, direction, or promotion, resulting in underperformance at the box office.
Competition from other film franchises and evolving audience preferences may have contributed to the relative failures of some Marvel films at the box office.
What is the next Marvel Studios movie?
Deadpool & Wolverine is the next movie from Marvel Studios and opens in theaters on July 29.
